Work in a state-of-the-art laboratory extracting and analyzing data from recorders on aircraft, trains, ships and highway vehicles, as well as retrieving data, audio and video from personal electronic devices. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering no later than June 30, 2019. If selected, applicants must provide documentation of completed degree requirements by July 31, 2019.

This position is located in the NTSB’s Office of Research & Engineering, Vehicle Recorder Division, which provides expertise in extracting and validating data from recording devices recovered from vehicles involved in transportation accidents and/or incidents.
The NTSB is an independent U.S. Federal agency responsible for investigating significant accidents in the various modes of transportation-aviation, railroad, highway, marine, and pipeline. The NTSB determines the probable cause of each accident investigated and issues safety recommendations to prevent future accidents.
Pay scale & grade: GS 7 - 9
Salary: $45,972 to $73,100 per year
