TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION IN CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cleveland State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of structural engineering focusing on civil infrastructure, including, but not limited to, revolutionary engineering and architectural building materials, and, sensoring and health monitoring of the built environment. The position will begin on August 19, 2019. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate civil engineering courses, including, but not limited to, concrete and structural-related courses, as well as develop graduate-level courses consistent with his/her research interests. The successful applicant will also be expected to develop and conduct a strong, externally funded research program, and supervise student research.
As a minimum, applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in civil engineering, an earned doctoral degree in civil engineering or closely related field, and excellent communications skills. A strong commitment to both research and scholarship with an excellent potential to develop a sustainable, independent, externally funded research program is required.
Preferred qualifications include: Professional Engineer (PE) registration or eligible for registration within four (4) years of filling the position is desired. Ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community. We are particularly interested in candidates who value cross-disciplinary and collaborative research, and whose research interests align with the Washkewicz College of Engineering's research goal of Sustainable Urban Living (refer to the Strategic Plan 2014-2019 at http://www.csuohio.edu/engineering/dean/dean).
