The City of Bozeman, Montana is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineer to join the team. In this essential role within the City’s Engineering/Public Works Division, you will plan, oversee, and manage civil engineering public infrastructure projects with a primary focus in the area of municipal transportation. The primary duties will be to plan, recommend, and approve appropriate designs, construction, and maintenance of City infrastructure plans and specifications, to ensure adherence to City infrastructure standards including coordination with other City departments and design professionals and to supervise other employees within the transportation subgroup in the City Engineering Division. You will also perform other various relevant duties as assigned. This position requires the ability to create and maintain effective relationships with City officials and employees, consulting engineers, architects, and other professionals, developers and contractors, government officials and agencies, and the general public. Demonstrated effective communication and customer service skills are required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a closely related field; and• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Montana either at the time of hire or by reciprocity with another state to be obtained by the end of the initial employment period; and• Five years of progressively responsible experience gained as a registered P.E.
