Chair of Neurosurgery at B-UMC Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ) Department: COM Phx Neurosurgery (0678)Location: Greater Phoenix Area The University of Arizona, College of Medicine – Phoenix is seeking a Chair of Neurosurgery at B-UMC Phoenix. The responsibilities and authority of the Department Chairs are established by the Dean, University of Arizona, College of Medicine- Phoenix. Department Chairs serve at the discretion of Dean and report primarily and directly to the Dean. Chairs of clinical departments also may work with the CEO or leadership of their respective Medical Centers or practice groups to execute the responsibilities for the clinical operations within their departments. Important collaborative relationships include (but are not limited to), other Chairs at the College of Medicine – Phoenix, University of Arizona Health Sciences Center (UAHS) Deans, research center directors, and clinical service center leadership. The Chair will be the Academic and Clinical Leader for the new Department of Neurosurgery at BUMC-P. The Chair of the responsible for recruitment of Neurosurgery faculty members and providing excellent education for COM-P students, residents and fellows. Partnerships with other affiliates and neurosciences programs are robust and expected to grow with the addition of the department. B-UMC Phoenix boasts state-of- the-art clinical facilities, translational research space and an array of educational conferences and seminars. The Chair will serve as a Clinical Leader within B-UMG to provide the clinical care of the highest quality and value for patients with neurosurgical disorders. The Chair will work closely, with the Chair of Neurology to develop clinical programs of national distinction with in the neurosciences. The Chair will also work productively with the leadership of Banner University Medical Group to provide cost-efficient, responsive, patient-centric care.
