The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. The department is seeking highly qualified candidates in the area of Transportation Engineering for Fall 2019. The department is especially interested in candidates with expertise in transportation systems analysis including traffic operations and management, traffic flow theory, highway capacity analysis, transportation network analysis, transportation economics, and transportation safety modeling.
An earned Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required by the time of appointment. Registration as a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) in Arkansas is required before tenure will be awarded. The successful applicant is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in transportation systems engineering, advise undergraduate and graduate students, publish in peer reviewed journals, and develop and maintain an externally funded research program that will complement existing strengths within the department.
