Under the direction of the Authority Engineer, the Engineering Technician assists in technical engineering work in the areas of drafting, land surveying, plan review, bidding, construction management/administration, construction inspection, and encroachment permitting. Additionally, the Engineering Technician will perform related work as assigned by the Authority Engineer.

Employment is contingent on successful background check, passage of pre-employment and periodic drug testing, and a 6-month probationary period. A current driver’s license is required. Position requires working indoors and outdoors (subject to ambient weather conditions). Position remains open until filled. Starting date is approximately January 1, 2019. Actual start date determined upon hire.
The majority of work will be performed in an office environment; occasionally work will be performed under adverse conditions such as in traffic, around heavy construction equipment, and in inclement weather. Visual acuity to read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications is required on a regular basis. At times, the ability to move equipment weighing up to forty (40) pounds may be required. As an exempt employee, work may be required during normal working and non-working hours.
