The Engineering Associate II (EAII) classification is the journey level classification within the series. These positions are responsible for performing professional and technical engineering work or reviewing plans on assigned projects, such as maintenance and/or transportation capital projects, development related improvement projects, and other infrastructure related projects. The Engineering and Construction Services (ECS) division is responsible for inspections of multi-million dollar transportation improvements projects. The ECS division currently has two openings for EAII's. These positions will be assigned to work on civil design duties with county engineering staff for a wide variety of public works transportation improvement projects. These positions will be responsible for performing professional and technical engineering work on assigned projects, such as culvert/bridge replacements, roadway widening, bike/pedestrian improvements and appurtenances (signing, striping, and illumination) as well as provide technical assistance to higher level engineering staff. In addition to the minimum qualifications for this position, ideal candidates should have a strong interest in roadway, hydraulic, structural and/or geotechnical engineering as well as have experience with public transportation projects in design and/or construction.
