We are now accepting applications for up two (2) open Postdoctoral Fellow positions in the Corder Lab at the University of Pennsylvania, Departments of Psychiatry and Neuroscience. We are looking for candidates interested in pursuing advanced imaging technologies and neural circuit tools to uncover how the brain creates the experience of pain, and how opioids shape our perceptions and motivations. Training opportunities include:
We also encourage applications from candidates with electrical or biomedical engineering backgrounds who are interested in the crossroads of neuroscience and engineering to uncover how brain circuits excel at extracting information from our senses using deep learning models.
The Corder Lab @ Penn will provide a dynamic research environment with exceptional resources for training in basic and translational neuroscience. Together, we will design studies that allow you to incorporate your research expertise, and to acquire the tangible and intangible skills necessary for your desired career path. You can expect that I will do all I can to make our new group an exciting, fair, and rewarding place to further your career.

Please come visit us at our SfN poster, Saturday Nov. 3, 1-5pm: 077.30 / AAA12 - An amygdalar neural ensemble encoding the unpleasantness of painful experiences. We would be more than happy to schedule one-on-one meetings at SfN with you to chat about our research and postdoctoral projects! Please contact us at CorderLab.firstname.lastname@example.org
The successful candidate(s) will have a Ph.D. or M.D. with established expertise in imaging approaches, behavioral modeling, slice or in vivo electrophysiology, and/or behavioral pharmacology. Experience in MatLab / Python / R / Linux / TensorFlow or other deep learning platforms is desired for certain projects, but not required. Candidates with broad neuroscience interests are encouraged to apply.
To Apply: Please visit ‘JOIN OUR LAB’ at https://www.gregcorder.com/#/join-the-corder-lab-penn/ and submit all materials to CorderLab.email@example.com , or please apply via the link on this page.
Interested candidates please email CorderLab.firstname.lastname@example.org a cover letter that briefly details career goals and prior research experience, along with your CV, and the names and emails of 2-3 references. Please include a link to your Github profile, if available. If available, please include a manuscript PDF that is most representative of your research. If your main graduate work is not yet published, please send a draft or poster that illustrates your work.
