The Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment at the University of Florida (UF) Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering seeks dynamic, forward-thinking, and highly qualified individuals for faculty position(s) in construction engineering. The candidate(s) for this open rank tenured/tenure-track position(s) will be expected to develop a nationally recognized research program in construction engineering. As a comprehensive land-grant university, the University of Florida offers excellent opportunities for collaboration with experts in structural engineering, construction materials, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, materials science, robotics, and architecture.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in civil engineering, construction engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field. The candidate should have a record of or demonstrate the potential for successful proposal writing, PhD student mentoring, scholarship, and classroom teaching.
Applicants are sought in two areas: The first area is in advanced construction robotics, control systems for construction automation, or industrialized construction systems. Applicants in this area who can bridge the fields of construction, computer science, and robotics are particularly encouraged to apply. The second area is construction material design for constructability and/or in-situ use. Applicants in this area who can blend computational material design, material performance measurement during construction, and sustainability are sought.
