The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate position.
90% Bench Research:Design a semi-independent research project and perform the core experimental work of the lab, with appropriate mentoring from the principal investigator. Use critical thinking to thoroughly understand the goals and procedures necessary to complete assigned experiments. Independently troubleshoot issues that come up in experiments and use knowledge in molecular biology & neuroscience to support the direction and future aims of research projects assigned. Participate in regular lab meetings to report on data and explain scientific findings.5% General Lab Citizenship:Participate in lab organization, placing orders, and maintaining equipment. 5% Training junior scientists:Eventually providing laboratory and scientific mentoring to junior trainees and, if you choose, undergraduate researcher(s).
