This position performs professional-level and technical engineering work within the Engineering Division with responsibility for supporting the City's Transportation System. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the development and management of traffic/transportation programs and budgets to include the Arterial Street Fund, the Local Street and Arterial Street Preservation Funds, and portions of other General Funds related to the Transportation System; providing support to the Senior Traffic Engineer and City Engineer for transportation issues; and representing the City's concerns with adjacent jurisdictions, funding agencies, and boards. This position may supervise subordinate technical and professional staff as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering AND five (5) years of successful civil engineering experience and successful grant writing experience: OR a combination of education, training, and experience that would indicate successful completion of the essential job functions listed above. Two years of successful transportation engineering experience in an engineering setting is highly desirable; municipal engineering experience is highly desirable; Professional Engineering (PE) License is highly desirable. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSPossess and retain a valid Washington State Driver's License during tenure of employment, without impending loss at time of appointment.
