The University of South Florida invites applications for the founding position of Chair, Department of Medical Engineering. The successful candidate is expected to lead a team of graduate students in Ph.D. research and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in biomedical engineering. The Chair will contribute to USF’s successes and priority research areas including neuroengineering, cardiac engineering, biomedical imaging, tissue engineering, nanotechnologies, drug delivery and drug development. This is the opportunity for a leader in bioengineering or biomedical engineering to develop novel initiatives aimed at enhancing graduate and undergraduate students' participation in research teams composed of engineers, graduate students in biomedical engineering, and research-oriented physicians; as well as development of new and improved curricular and co-curricular experiences in clinical and hospital settings.
