The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Houston invites applications for one faculty position at the tenured Associate/Full professor or tenure track Assistant professor in the field of structural engineering and structural mechanics. Candidates with research interests in computation, modeling, and/or experimentation, as well as with multi-disciplinary research directions are encouraged to apply. Candidates are expected to demonstrate nationally and internationally recognized scholarly activities with a strong potential of having externally funded research. The candidates must also demonstrate a commitment towards teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Time Frame: The start date for this appointment is September 1, 2019. Applications received before January 1, 2019 will be given priority and the review will continue until the position is filled.

Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or in a closely related field at the time of appointment. Successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain an internationally recognized, cross-disciplinary research program, and to be able to complement and collaborate with the current faculty in the Department, College, and University.
