Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood's Portland Design Center is seeking a CADD technician specializing in Civil / Environmental design. The Portland Design Center is a multi-disciplinary engineering / architecture team with 75 engineers, architects, surveyors, designers and support staff. Wood offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects for a wide range of clients throughout the US from the relaxed environment of a small, vibrant city.Projects include design and design-build for environmental / remediation, industrial, commercial, federal and institutional facilities and energy engineering.Key Qualifications / ResponsibilitiesWork within multidiscipline design teams on wide variety of civil, civil / environmental and A / E projects, including site development, infrastructure, landfills, stream restoration, soil and groundwater remediationCivil CAD / Design and CAD support relative to grading, infrastructure and stormwater designUnderstanding of erosion and sediment control and stormwater designPreparation of civil / environmental engineering construction and permitting drawingsDevelop surface models, pipe networks and earthwork quantities using AutoCAD Civil3DUnderstanding of coordinate geometry and land surveyingDrawing production and engineering support of documents for local, state and federal permitsInteract with coworkers, project teams and coordination with remote officesConduct work in a professional and ethical mannerExcellent interpersonal skillsImplementation of varying client CAD standardsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detailStrong computer skillsStrong work ethic
Skills / QualificationsAA degree, technical diploma or vocational training and 5+ years of experience preferredEntry level candidates with some exposure to following requirements will also be considered.Demonstrated advanced AutoCAD skillsAbility to prepare design engineering drawings and management digital files associated with CAD / Civil 3dAutoCAD Civil3D knowledge and experienceMust be fluent in the latest versions of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3dExperience in Bentley Microstation is value addedExperience in GIS is value addedDemonstrated project setup skills and familiarity with standard industry practicesAbility to work with and take direction from Architects, Engineers and Project ManagersMust be familiar with National CAD standards and implement them on projectsDrafting / CAD knowledge of other disciplines is a plus, i.e. Architecture, Civil, StructuralAbility to read, comprehend, and prepare construction drawings, understanding of technical specifications is value addedExcellent communication, both verbal and written, and organizational abilitiesWillingness to accept responsibility and additional support tasksFlexibility to work outside of normal business hours if / as requiredValid driver’s license and insurable driving recordMust be a US citizenMust pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.Physical DemandsMajority of work is completed in office / administrative environment, may involve exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects, including the human body.Close, distance, and peripheral vision and normal auditory function.License / Certification RequirementsAA degree, technical diploma or vocational training and 5+ years of experienceCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
