Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our project team in Moccasin, CA. This position requires knowledge and experience operating Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants for a large Municipal Utility and Power agency. Work will be performed at a remote location in northern Sierra Nevada in California. The operator(s) must possess a Class 2 Wastewater Operator certificate/permit as issued by the State of California. The operator(s) must also pass an SFPUC Background Check.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate a Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant in accordance with the State Laws of CaliforniaAbility to make good observations and record them carefullyPerforms more complex collection of field and/or laboratory dataPerforms more complex laboratory testsWrites routine field reports with minimal supervision; contributes to writing complex reportsAt the direction of the project manager or senior professional, interacts with clients and subcontractorsPrepares more non-routine and/or complex calibrations of field and/or laboratory equipment, either in field, laboratory or officePrepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipmentResponsible for meeting assigned task deadlinesInforms immediate supervisor or Project Manager about problems encountered during work assignmentsObserves and documents routine construction operations and writes daily reportsUnderstands, applies and oversees safety requirements in the fieldMust possess and keep in compliance with a Class 2 Water and a Class 2 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate for the State of CaliforniaMust be able to pass a background check performed by SFPUCAdditional Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAssists in other non-technical projects as appropriateAssists and observe contractor work on construction projects and interact with clients and contractor or subcontractor representatives accordinglyMay coordinate/direct the work of Field TechniciansMay assist in training personnel on use of field equipment or collection of field and/or laboratory data
