Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a motivated, skilled Engineer with 10 years of facility compliance engineering, permitting, process and other environmental engineering experience to join our Chelmsford, MA office and become an integral member of our team.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis person will be a member of a team providing environmental engineering services, such as compliance audits, facility inspections and compliance reporting, to private industry. This position will support a wide variety of projects including permit applications, stormwater plans, SPCC Plans, and support for other environmental compliance projects. Some of the responsibilities of this position will include:
Provide compliance and regulatory support for existing and new industrial clients (i.e., biopharmaceutical, manufacturing, petrochemical, utility, hospital, university)Review existing permit conditions for applicability, conformity with rules, and site complianceDevelop technical tools and approaches for successful project completionInterface with regulatory agencies for permit development and complianceTechnical review and mentoring of junior engineering staffEnvironmental compliance areas including, but not limited to: air emissions, SPCC planning, stormwater planning, wastewater permitting, toxic chemical usage/processing reporting and hazardous waste related projectsWill travel to project sites locally, surrounding states, and various areas of the country
Skills / Qualifications
RequiredBS degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or other technical field - MS degree is a plus10 years’ experience in environmental, health and safety compliance, inspection and reporting in Massachusetts and surrounding statesComputer proficient (must have proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and excellent spreadsheet skillsStrong technical writing skillsDemonstrated verbal communication and technical presentation skillsTeam player and technical contributorAble to define scope, schedule, and budget for project implementationMust pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
PreferredProfessional Engineer (PE) certificationExperience related to air, water, wastewater, and/or hazardous waste environmental permitting40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER TrainingAbility to work both independently and as part of a team with the ability/desire to lead tasksAttention to detailAbility to read, interpret and apply information on State and Federal technical guidance, and regulations, and compliance determinations
