Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. has an opening for an On-Call Senior Level Engineer in our Sacramento, CA office to support and grow our environmental remediation practice and provide environmental consulting services in support of public and private clientele. We are looking for a candidate who is excited about the opportunity to maintain and grow our environmental consulting business with knowledge and technical skills in design and implementation of soil and groundwater remediation systems. Experience with mine water, CERCLA Feasibility Studies, and industrial process water treatment a plus. This position requires an individual with effective communication skills as significant client, agency, public, and team interactions are expected. Candidates should be self-motivated and able to work on projects with variable complexity with the desire and ability to mentor and build a strong support team.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform design, oversight, mentorship and direct the efforts of staff- and project-level engineersMarket and develop new work to support the continued growth of the engineering department and the officeConsulting and management for municipal, commercial, and industrial projectsCoordinate multi-discipline team for public and commercial projectsMaintain relationships with key client project managersSupport proposal preparation work and technical work scope developmentRecruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their workBe able to lead or follow other Principal, Senior, and Staff level employees as the situations occurManage multiple projects, being responsible for ensuring that deliverables, schedules, and budgets are achievedTravel to project(s), as needed, for the execution of project goals
Skills / QualificationsB.S. in Engineering required, MS in Engineering a plusCalifornia professional licensure in Civil Engineering8-12 years related environmental experience40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certification requiredPrevious consulting experience requiredStrong desire to provide excellent, innovative, practical solutions and a commitment to technical excellenceMust be a self-starter, team oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work with, mentor, and direct engineers, scientists, and techniciansWell organized and exhibit ability to successfully track and meet budgets and schedulesOversee remedy construction and operation and maintenance of environmental project workSelling, managing, performing, and consulting on projects and programs, including a wide range of project sizesMust pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (Motor Vehicle Safety) policyCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
