Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Construction Manager to assist the USPS Program on western U.S. Postal Service construction projects.LocationOpen to any Wood office location in the Eastern USRole OverviewThe construction manager will be responsible for assisting the program project manager with planning, design, co-ordination and control of construction projects from inception to completion. He/She will be responsible for ensuring that the client’s requirements regarding functionality and established standards are met. He/She will also be responsible for dealing with any delays that may happen during construction, such as emergencies and/or unforeseen conditions that may occur; and ensuring that that the construction project is concluded successfully and on-time.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with Project ManagersManaging multiple construction projects at one timeCoordinating with Postal Service customer from Contracting Officers to Project ManagersPlanning and coordination procurement of construction projectsConstruction management oversight including construction administration including verification of progress paymentsConstruction schedule development and attainmentDetermining and enforcing labor requirementsOverseeing the performance of contractorsMonitoring work progress of on-site constructionOverseeing the delivery of materials, construction tools, and equipmentEnsuring that construction resources are used wellEnsuring that all safety precautions are adhered to by the construction workersMonitoring the compliance with Postal Service requirements and specifications
