SUMMARY OF POSITIONUnder direction of the Development Engineering Manager, the Civil Engineer II (Development) has primary responsibility for managing tasks associated with development review including but not limited to: subdivision and commercial plan reviews, preparing, designing and planning public services and/or Capital Improvement Projects, attending Development Review Committee meetings, conducting meetings with consultants, engineers, and homeowners, obtaining easements, project budgeting, construction management, cost estimates, and interviewing prospective employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; supplemented by five (5) years previous experience required, six (6) years with supervisory experience preferred in Civil/Municipal Engineering and/or training that includes engineering drafting and design; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Texas Professional Engineer license (or ability to obtain within 6 months) required. Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
PHYSICAL DEMANDSTasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
