Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood has an opportunity for an Environmental Technician to collect environmental soil and groundwater samples and perform operations and maintenance of environmental remediation systems.LocationWest Texas area (Midland, El Paso)Key ResponsibilitiesWill travel to project sites primarily in West Texas areaOther opportunities outside of West Texas may require occasional overnight travelWill perform groundwater monitoring, soil samplingResponsible for accurate and appropriate data gathering in support of performed field activities, with subsequent generation of clearly-written and understandable daily field reports
Skills / QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalentDegree in geology, engineering a plus2 to 4 years + environmental field experienceMust be a self-starter with adequate written and verbal communication skillsFlexible to work outside normal business hours as requiredWillingness to travel to project sites in the throughout West Texas area; Includes occasional out of town travelMust pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyPreferredOSHA 40 hour certificationBest suited candidate may have an understanding of things mechanical and may have operated treatment systems Past experience is a mustBeneficial if experience performing soil drilling and boring, install groundwater monitoring wells, collect volumetric soil samples, collect groundwater samples and collect surface water and sediment samples.Physical DemandsField activities may require working in unfavorable weather conditionsField activities may require working in specialized protective equipment supplied by employer; Candidate must be physically capable of performing tasks in such equipmentAbility to lift 40 poundsCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
