Banner Alzheimer’s Institute (BAI) is committed to ending Alzheimer’s before we lose another generation. Banner Research Finance provides support to investigators and study teams initiating and conducting clinical trials. Supported studies span the vast network of Banner Health facilities and include the University of Arizona Medical Center. The department negotiates payment terms with industry and nonprofit sponsors, creates coverage analyses, sets up study plans in the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), and oversees the proper billing for charges in the hospital's billing systems. As a Research Budget Analyst, you will have the opportunity to conduct facility and professional charge review, payer coverage analysis, verify compliance of billing practices, budget creation for clinical trials, and budget negotiations. You will also build study plans and work with multiple departments once a fully executed contract comes through. You will lead meetings with financial accountants responsible for invoicing, as well as the Clinical Trials Senior Managers.

Job SummaryThis position provides pre-initiation research study evaluation including cost, coverage, and overall financial benefit analysis. Ensures analytical evaluations provide relevant and complete measures of cost, revenue, and billing projections and processing. Audits administrative aspects of ongoing research to ensure effective coordination of payments from sponsors. Ensures regulatory compliance and financial coverage. Develops and maintains effective project relationships. Translates medical service priorities into effective research development activities and support allocations to ensure research leads to desired outcomes consistent with organizational goals.
Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in business or healthcare related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; may consider RN with background in managed care or third party payor environment.Three to 5 years of experience in a patient financial position including substantial exposure to clinical and/or grant administration environment, utilization/care management or research role.Strong knowledge and understanding of reimbursement methodologies Proven analytical and modeling skills. Working knowledge of computer spreadsheets and other computer applications.
