Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Geologist or Engineer to join our team in Knoxville. This individual will be approximately 30% in the office and 70% in the field on commercial/industrial, federal, clean energy, and transportation sites.Key ResponsibilitiesWill work under the supervision of a Senior or Associate Geologist or EngineerField activities include soil borings, groundwater monitoring well installations, collecting soil, groundwater, surface water and sediment samples as well as documenting field activitiesField activities may also include oversight of remediation subcontractors during remediation activities including excavations, pilot studies and remediation system installationOffice activities may include analysis and interpretation of hydrogeologic data, soil and water analytical results and preparation of reportsWill prepare tables and figures using analytical data and topographic / site mapsWill perform statistical analysis of data and work with Excel spreadsheetsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, or gINT is a plusResearch scientific literature and regulatory requirements, prepare permit applications and regulatory compliance reports (such as Discharge Monitoring Reports)Follow company safety standards, prepare site-specific Health and Safety Plans and Job Hazard AnalysesContact and coordinate with subcontractors and set up POs through internal purchasing systemProject coordination assisting Project Manager with project financial management, scheduling and communicationsOur professionals work on many projects at one time and must have the ability to multi-taskMaintaining successful client relations is a mustTravel to project sites throughout the United StatesOvernight travel to other states will be required as needed, for up to two weeks at a time
