In this position you will assist with technical aspects of engineering design projects and task management, as it relates to water resources projects.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineer with a background in Environmental, Civil, or Agricultural Engineering needed with strong technical skills to help deliver quality products to customers in an expanding marketplaceConducts both field and office elements of projectsCan conduct water quality, hydrologic, and groundwater models; develop water budgets; understanding of structural components, specifically related to water resources design improvements; Can prepare erosion and sediment control plans and water/sediment monitoring plansHas design, plan preparation, permitting and construction phase services experienceHas strong technical writing skillsMust have experience overseeing contractorsMust be able to travelMust be able to manage and lead staff in project tasks in a team environmentMust be able to assist with proposal preparationStrong commitment to company’s “Beyond Zero" safety program; follow company safety standards, site safety standards and maintain safe workplace practices
Skills / QualificationsEngineer with 3 to 7 years of experience requiredMust have consulting experienceMinimum BS EngineeringMust have or be working towards obtaining the El certification; having a PE is a plusKnowledge in water resources engineering, including environmental, water quality, modeling, AutoCAD and construction oversiteSpecific knowledge of the hydrology and water quality issues of Florida requiredKnowledge of structural design and understanding of geotechnical project aspects a plusClient relationships and project experience in Florida requiredExperience with the following hydrologic and hydraulic models a plus: ICPR and HECProficiency in using the Suite of MS Office productsStrong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to prepare reports and proposals.Must be able to travel locally and out of area, as necessary; Majority of travel will be limited to trips within FloridaThe position is located in the Gainesville, FL officeMust pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
