Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Senior CAD Operator to execute mechanical / plumbing design drafting requirements independently or as a member of a design team. Under the general supervision of a senior engineer/designer, plans and carries out non-routine technical assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Capable of handling assignments which involve a variety of procedures and techniques. An understanding of related engineering principles and practices, plus training and diversified experience in the field of activity is required. Minimum of 5-7 years progressively more responsible pertinent experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Primary focus for project work will be to prepare construction drawings for mechanical / plumbing designs in the municipal, Federal Government and industrial sectors. Typical projects include repair/replacement and new facility designs for Department of Defense installations worldwide, with construction values ranging from tens of thousands to millions of dollars.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute MEP and multi-discipline engineering CAD/BIM facility projects, includes local and travel support for drawings, plans, and studiesAssist with the design of complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal specifications from project teamWork with project team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs, and make corrections to the drawings as requested by the senior staffCreating preliminary and detailed design figures and drawings for mechanical / plumbing projectsPrepare plan, section and detail design drawings for facilitiesCADD work using AutoCAD; REVIT experience a plusAdhere to discipline specific CAD standards
Skills / QualificationsMinimum 5 years of full time CADD experience (i.e. 10,000 hrs) in MEP and multi-discipline engineering supportExpert level CADD operator with AutoCAD softwareKnowledge of facility systems details, elevations, etc. and ability to generate standard detailing and basic layouts with minimal guidancePossess good verbal, analytical, writing skills, and attention to detailMust work well in a project team environment, as well as have the capacity to conduct work with minimal supervision and oversightAbility to obtain a passportWilling to travel up to 25% - US and overseas travel possibleSelf-starting; able to work with minimal oversightMust pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
