The City of Redwood City’s Community Development Department invites you to apply for the position of Senior Transportation Planner. The current opening is in the Engineering and Transportation Division of the Community Development Department and provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced transportation planner seeking variety and challenge. In addition to project management, the incumbent will coordinate with other City departments and regional transportation agencies and interact regularly with the public.

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in transportation planning, urban planning, transportation engineering, or a closely related field; OR
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in another field of study combined with training and experience in transportation planning that provides equivalent background required to perform the work.
A Master’s Degree in planning, engineering or a related field is highly desirable.
Four years of progressively responsible experience in transportation planning and policy, including work related to multi-modal transportation, complete streets, sustainability, public health, green infrastructure, transportation demand management and performance metrics.
Minimum of two years of project management experience.
