We encourage you to apply for our opportunity!Role OverviewPerform the safe, proper, and efficient operations of the ORION ScanSortSM system, a proprietary, complex, conveyor-based soil sorting system that segregates soils based on radiological content. Ensure that the system is operated and maintained in accordance with established controls and procedures. Identify and respond appropriately to unexpected conditions. Eagerly and adeptly understand and apply new concepts and technologies. Maintain data integrity and quality control. Effectively communicate and coordinate work activities with other field staff.Our initial work is a 6 month project in San Francisco, CA. We anticipate the work may continue in San Francisco for up to 2 years. If an individual is open to travel, they may have the opportunity to support projects in other locations in the US and internationally following the San Francisco work.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform the safe, proper, and efficient operations of the ORION ScanSortSM systemSet up, operate, and maintain equipment, especially conveyorsMaintain logs of field activitiesCritically and analytically assess electronics, machinery, and data to ensure proper operationsIdentify, troubleshoot, and rectify deviations from normal operating conditionsSecurely manage various sensitive data streamsUse specialized equipment to collect & manage data and prepare analyses & reportsEffectively communicate with field personnelWill require some lifting and carrying
Skills / QualificationsMinimum of 1 year environmental field work or other directly relevant experienceAS or BS degree or 2 years’ experience in a STEM field strongly preferredUnderstanding of applicable scientific methods and technical methodologiesComputer proficiency to include Windows OS and MS Office, especially Excel and Access Basic knowledge of software communications and networking preferredBasic knowledge of spectroscopy preferredMechanical knowledge of conveyors, motors, and VFDs preferredElectrical knowledge, including 120VAC, 3-phase 480VAC, and DC circuitry preferredAbility to understand procedural manuals and execute work ordersAbility to write and prepare reports and documentationAbility to follow instructions with attention to detailAbility to effectively communicate technical information to a wide range of audiencesAbility to work independently and with a teamHAZWOPER and Radiation Worker Training preferredFlexibility to work outside normal business hours as requiredAbility to lift a minimum of 50 poundsMust pass drug test, physical, background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policyCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
