Global Tools and Storage (GTS) is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Forging & Machining, to develop, evaluate and improve multiple assigned manufacturing processes. Utilizing your expertise, you will help deploy new process technology, product design, and materials while supporting production goals, quality and cost objectives.
FORGING and MACHINING Expert with working knowledge of Hot Forging, Warm Forging, and Cold Forging. Candidate should also specialize in machining and post processing of forgings.
Proven ability to manage procurement and implementation of multiple projects.
Provide New Product Design Engineer with Technical DFM (Design for Manufacturing) support to assure on-going part/product Quality at competitive Costs through:
Realistic 3-D features/geometries/structure to allow robust work holding & optimal cutting tool application
Practical 2-D drawing GD&T to allow robust work holding & in-process quality gaging inspection
Work with global advanced machine tool builders in developing/selecting optimal/economic machining equipment as well as designing robust work holding components at competitive cost (vs. Buy) with < 2-year financial payback
In addition, the candidate should have working knowledge in 1 or more of the following processes: Stamping, Belt Polishing, Grinding, and Turning
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BSME or BS in Mfg. Eng preferred)
A working knowledge of Forging (Hot, Warm, Cold)
A working knowledge of Machining Forgings
A working knowledge of Statistical Process Control
Hands on experience in lean manufacturing implementations, including analysis, design and implementation
Strong working knowledge of tool and die principles and associated manufacturing processes
Demonstrated ability to apply statistical methods (part/process qualifications and problem-solving activities
Proficient with ProE, or Solid Works, familiar with AutoCad and knowledgeable of geometric dimensioning & tolerance
Proficient with MS Word, Power Point and Excel
Excellent written/verbal skills required
