SUMMARY: AC Transit is actively searching for qualified candidates for the External Affairs Representative position. This is a limited term role through December 31, 2019 with the possibility of extending beyond this date. The External Affairs Representative develops and maintains on-going relationships between the District and external organizations such as Chambers of Commerce, local business groups, community organizations, cultural and economic development interests, local and regional political constituencies, faith based organizations, and other public agencies to promote the awareness of, value of, and need for public transit within their respective communities. The External Affairs Representative tracks policies and regulations at the local, regional, state, and/or federal levels that impact public transit. The External Affairs Representative works in collaboration with internal departments to coordinate and convey public education information, plan and develop District initiatives and special events, and represents the District at community events to promote awareness about AC Transit. Benefits: All employees hired on or after January 1, 2016, may be in the District's Tier II pension plan covered by the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA).
