Postdoctoral Fellow position in Neuroscience is immediately available in a dynamic research laboratory that studies molecular mechanisms and epigenetic regulation of axon regeneration and neural immune response after CNS injury. The laboratory is surrounded by a rich research environment in the Department of Neuroscience at Mount Sinai Medical Center, one of the top NIH-funded institute for neuroscience research. New research topics in the laboratory involve characterization of novel chromatin biology and epigenetic modulations of axonal regeneration and microglial activation as novel CNS repair strategy. Multidisciplinary approaches include molecular, genomic/transcriptomic, mouse genetics, combined with in vivo gene manipulation and rodent Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and CNS disease models.
Candidates should have a recent PhD and/or MD degree in biomedical sciences, and high motivation to pursue independent research endeavors in a competitive field. Experience in molecular biology and biochemistry is preferred, and knowledge in epigenetics, neuronal cell cultures, mouse genetics and animal surgery is desirable. Successful candidates should have strong communication/written skills.
The laboratory is located at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the upper east side of Manhattan, New York City. Applicants should send curriculum vitae, a brief statement of research accomplishments and interests, and names of three references to: H. Jenny Zou, M.D, PhD, E-mail: email@example.com.
