About the role
We are looking for a number of Senior Process Engineers capable of providing processing insights to our refineries.
These technical roles bridge the gap between production, maintenance, and the fundamentals of engineering. Successful engineers in our operation take their technical knowledge and translate it in a way that makes their point in a clear, concise way without losing people in the details. They manage multiple projects, switch gears quickly, and make informed decisions.
These Senior Process Engineer roles are a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about solving complex problems, driving change, and influencing. Production is fast paced and demanding, but always challenging and rewarding.
Working side by side with operations, and interacting daily with our operators and maintainers, you will:
Support the health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) programs by participating in their implementation, maintenance and enforcement as well as compliance with corporate programs and policies
Analyze operating procedures, process data trends, and equipment unit operation functions to optimize the process
Consult with scientific, engineering, contractors, consultants, and technical personnel to resolve problems such as equipment or system malfunctions, incomplete test data and data interpretation
Assist maintenance and production departments in troubleshooting, training, and providing technical support
Be accountable to provide new ideas, insights, and direction for new processing alternatives to improve product recovery and quality
Lead process hazard assessments and investigations and manage reporting and compliance of refinery process safety management program
Lead teams that diagnose, evaluate, and correct plant deficiencies implementing sustainable solutions both with and without capital investment
Utilize expertise in process evaluation, diagnostic, and problem solving skills to mentor junior engineers
To be successfully considered for these roles, you will have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, e.g. Chemical or Metallurgical
Substantial experience in mineral processing or similar industrial environment
Working knowledge of vacuum filter belts, hydro cyclones, crystallization
Adept at using historian trending packages to troubleshooting process upsets and modify/build SQL reports (INSQL, SQL)
Strong problem solver, strategic thinking and analytically
Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Additionally you will have:
Familiarity with SYSCAD
Experience using process simulation software packages
Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and background in writing control algorithms for process optimization
Proven understanding of engineering principles of chemistry, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, mechanical stress, fluid flow
