Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. (Wood) is searching for a mid- to senior-level Structural Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. The position will entail working on structural evaluation, repair and design projects on a variety of types of buildings and public infrastructure. Candidate will have opportunity to collaborate with personnel at other Wood offices throughout the company.Key ResponsibilitiesServes as a discipline lead for structural engineering elements of projectsReviews and interprets building code requirements and other pertinent design standardsPrepares client deliverables including field reports, calculation packages, plans/drawings, and specificationsPerforms structural inspections in concrete, masonry, and steelConducts technical reviews of reports, correspondence, and calculations related to the structural disciplineDefines structural scope, budget, and schedule for structural efforts/projectsPrepares, directs, and reviews engineering and construction cost estimatesRecognizes and initiates business development opportunities, and maintains effective client relationsSupports preparation of proposals and bids, including design-build projectsFollows company safety standards and site safety standards
Skills / QualificationsB.S. and/or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited programMinimum of 8 years of discipline-related experienceRegistered as a Civil or Structural Professional Engineer in Arizona, active status with no disciplinary actions. Registered in other states considered a plusDesign-build and CMAR experienceStrong AutoCAD skills and experience with REVIT a plusAbility to define and analyze finite element modelsDemonstrated ability to solve complex problemsStrong oral and written communication skillsMinimum of 3 years of proven project/task management experienceAbility to climb ladders and scaffoldsAbility to enter confined spaces; Required training/certification to be provided, if neededFlexibility to travel as required; Project-related travel should be anticipated, primarily domestic short duration (typically a few days in duration) tripsMust pass drug screen, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policyCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
