The City of Stockton offers an exciting career opportunity for a Deputy Municipal Utilities Director/Maintenance & Collection Systems. This at-will position reports directly to the Director of Municipal Utilities and is responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, reviewing, evaluating, and participating in all wastewater collection facility and stormwater system operations, maintenance, and repair activities. The ideal candidate will have the technical and managerial skills necessary to effectively manage preventive maintenance programs to maintain maximum wastewater flow and minimize stormwater intrusion. This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in engineering or closely related field and three years supervisory experience in a water or wastewater utility or in underground pipeline construction and maintenance. Additional lead or operational level experience, as outlined above, may be substituted for the education on a year for year basis to a maximum of two years. California registration as a PE is desired.
