The Maintenance Engineer must set the maintenance strategy, conduct performance reviews, and work with the maintenance team to meet objectives. They will attend maintenance and engineering activities with other departments, attend staff meetings, as well as safety and other meetings as directed by Plant Operations. They must review and continually improve Preventive Maintenance (PM) program assuring that all PM orders are completed on time and thoroughly. General duties including all facility manufacturing equipment, support building and grounds as needed. Effectively lead maintenance team and maintenance activities within the facility.
• Automation - Propose solutions of more complicated manufacturing problems with a strong focus related to the manufacturing and automation of products. Use advanced technical training, experience and process knowledge to address equipment and facility needs on a daily basis and to apply problem solving techniques to higher-level issues that compromise safety, quality and/or productivity on an as-needed basis.• Install and repair any production machinery, support equipment, and department equipment with no assistance. Support the maintenance requests for buildings and grounds when needed. Must be capable of using purchasing system. Contact suppliers and work with them for machine parts and debugging.• Work directly with Production Supervisors and Managers on a daily basis to improve process capabilities, repeatability and solve immediate manufacturing problems. Such problems could include machine breakdowns, machine repeatability issues, machine takt time issues, manufacturing systems problems, electrical or other maintenance problems, etc. Improve machine uptime.• Maintain accurate files on all equipment when it is necessary. This includes entering repair information in the machine history. Lead effective spare parts inventory system.• Lead the Technical Maintenance team to drive improved overall maintenance and troubleshooting skills and abilities. Grow and develop team members to increase technical skills, focusing on technical growth and excellence of all team members.• Drive Continuous Improvement projects to improve the operational efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing facility through improvement of maintenance processes. Drive 5S excellence in the maintenance area and within the operations. Improve Preventive Maintenance program assuring that all PM orders are detailed to manufacturers' specifications, completed thoroughly, on time and updated.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.• Five to ten years' previous experience in the maintenance field focused on Injection Molding and Assembly Operations.• Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage technical maintenance resources.• Excellent mechanical ability, safety and quality conscious.• Prior experience with automation software, robotics and PLC programming.• 10 years experience in Injection Molding processes; 2 + years supervisory experience• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work as a team member.• Experienced with Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
