The Intramural Research Program of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join an interdisciplinary group of scientists in its Neuroimaging Research Branch (NRB). The position is dedicated to understanding the neurobiological mechanisms of substance use disorder using preclinical models of addiction. Research tools include functional MRI, calcium imaging, optogenetics and chemogenetics. This position will have ample opportunities to collaborate with NIDA scientists on advanced cell biology and behavior models. The NRB has a 9.4T Bruker animal MRI scanner, optical device for calcium imaging, and operant chambers for rodent behavior assessments. The NRB also has full computational hardware and software for imaging data processing and analysis. NIH multi-array computer facilities are available for high intensity computation. The successful candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Neuropsychology, Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. The doctor degree must be less than 5 years old. Experience with preclinical models of addiction and/or imaging techniques is desirable.
