Yeh is seeking qualified Geotechnical Engineers at all levels for our Denver office.
Responsible for applying knowledge of geologic, geotechnical, structural, and engineering principles and practices to provide concise and on time project deliverables. Familiar with advanced techniques, practices, and software’s in geologic and geotechnical engineering fields and related sciences and disciplines. A lead position, this level includes technical direction over a group of geologists, engineers or functions as a technical specialist, formulating and developing advanced engineering concepts.
Coordinates technical and administrative activities with those of other disciplines and other departments in the Company participating in a project. As a Senior Engineer carries out complex or basic assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures to create new or refined equipment, materials, processes or methods. Markets the firm’s capabilities, within an engineering and geologic specialty, to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.
Prepares proposals for potential projects. Makes decisions regarding methods, scope and changes. Supervises geologic, engineering and support personnel, evaluates performance, assigns and schedules work establishes project priorities and standards, and provides technical support of project work. Participates in selection of design team and subconsultants, subcontractor and fee negotiations. May conduct constructability reviews or assist in the design/planning/review of other projects not assigned to incumbent. Holds membership in professional associations and participates on company committees.
Duties: Performs investigations and evaluations to develop design recommendations and assists in the preparation of design plans and specifications. More specific duties include developing subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs, shallow and deep foundation analyses, slope stability analysis, subgrade evaluations, soil and rock cut slope designs, preparation of geotechnical engineering reports, task / project management, and the preparation of technical and price proposals. The candidate should be capable of working independently on small projects or assists more senior engineers on larger projects. May give direction to clerical and technical personnel. We have immediate openings in our Denver, Colorado Springs and Grand Junction offices.
In addition to managing projects, field technicians and the materials testing lab, the candidate will prospect work (with the assistance of the local branch manager and existing marketing manager), prepare proposals and cost estimates, prepare technical reports, review and approve inspection reports, manage existing projects with existing national and local clients and assist with obtaining and maintaining testing lab certifications.
The company has an existing backlog of work with national and local clients, an experienced field technician staff and field and laboratory equipment. Peer review and support is provided from other company divisions and offices in Colorado.
