Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an IDOT/Illinois Tollway experienced Documentation Technician/Inspector for transportation infrastructure projects.Key ResponsibilitiesRead and comprehend construction drawings, special provisions, standard specifications, standard drawing and other referenced documentationObserved construction activities for conformance to contract documentsDocument how daily construction activities are in conformance to the contract documentsIdentify nonconforming construction activities and follow the client’s nonconfroming work proceduresMeasure and compute daily construction quantities in accordance with the client’s method of measurement and paymentReview and check daily quantity reportsEnter quantity reports into Fieldsys or ICORS and or quantity book as required by the projectEnter material certifications into ICORS and or quantity book as required by the projectPrepare and process pay estimates, change authorizations, change orders and extra work ordersMaintain project logs and record drawingsMaintain project documentation for closeout requirements
Skills / QualificationsPreferred candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in an engineering related field of study; Illinois PE is a plus, or relevant certification/experience7+ years of IDOT/Tollway/Municipal or other transportation related Phase III Engineering documentation technician/inspection experienceAbility to apply analytical or scientific thinking to define and solve problems and be able to execute field and office tasksUnderstanding of basic engineering principlesDemonstrated problem-solving abilityIDOT certified in the documentation of contract quantitiesAbility to work both in a team environment and independentlySelf-starter with strong math, oral and written communications skillsProactive individual who takes ownership of their workMust be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft suite of software.Proficient in the use of Fieldsys, ICORS, and web based project management systemsExperienced in IDOT/Tollway/Municipal material certification proceduresAbility to learn new technologies and softwareAbility and willingness to travel to and work at construction sitesAbility to walk on uneven ground and work in variable outside conditionsAbility to work various shifts depending upon construction schedulesExperience in material quality assurance is a plusSurvey experience with total station or GPS systems is a plusMust pass drug test, have a valid driver’s license, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving MVR policyIf you believe you have the necessary knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to succeed in this position, then we would like to hear from you.Company OverviewWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
