The County of San Luis Obispo, Department of Public Works has an immediate opening for the position of Development Services Division Manager. The position manages a staff operating in the following elements:
The position works closely with the Department's Transportation, Utilities, and Environmental Divisions in identifying and regulating development impacts to County maintained infrastructure, including the administration of transportation mitigation fee programs; and with the County Department of Planning and Building on processing development permit applications and implementing the County General Plan; and works collaboratively with the Regional Planning Agency and numerous state and local agencies in planning, review, and implementing projects. Position responsibilities include:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in a related field. (Job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.) In addition, four years of increasingly responsible professional-level experience performing a variety of administrative or fiscal activities -- two years of the required experience must be in a supervisory position. A master's degree in Business Administration/Management, Public Administration, Finance, or Public Works related field may substitute for one year of the required non-supervisory experience.
