Engineers at Hinman can expect to support projects by analyzing and designing structures in response to extreme loads. Successful candidates will perform dynamic non-linear analysis using single/multiple-degree-of-freedom and finite element methods. Common duties also include reviewing drawings, providing design recommendations and solutions, and writing reports with graphics for client presentation. Travel for site visits may be required.
PhD in Civil/Structural Engineering is required with coursework in structural dynamics, vibrations, inelastic response and earthquake engineering. Also, experience with the following software products is recommended: MathCad, Matlab, SAP2000Nonlinear, LS-DYNA, and AutoCAD.

Candidates need to be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
