MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:High School diploma or equivalent.Required Experience:• Five or more years experience in a civil construction, surveying and/or engineering work environment.Substitution for Work Experience:Post high school education may be substituted for work experience, with extensive training in a specialty field.ORBachelor's degree with minimal amount of related work experience.ORAny equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:• Use and application of County policy, CDOT Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, AASHTO, and any other applicable reference manual as a source for regulations to assignments and county service issues. • Ability to read construction plans and provide infrastructure management support. • Geotechnical testing and materials knowledge. • All phases of construction inspection including, but not limited to soils, asphalt, concrete, underground and above ground utilities and traffic control and surface maintenance.• Applied general knowledge of computer applications including spreadsheets and word processing. • Contract and construction document interpretation. • Customer service for Right-Of-Way Use and Road Use permitting functions consistent with County Code. • Coordination with other Public Works Divisions, County Departments.
