The Director- Quality Assurance works under the general direction of the Vice President/General Manager and is responsible for the overall direction and execution of the end to end Quality Management processes. This is a working role. Responsibilities include a robust adherence to all OEM and company certifications (Nadcap, AS9100-D, FAA) at AVMRO facilities as well as the Suppliers. In addition, he or she is responsible to uphold all Quality standards on internal manufacturing and business processes. This individual will be part of a high performing leadership team and must have demonstrated experience leading change and improvements. As a senior leader for the Quality function this person will also provide guidance to other Aerosystems businesses as deemed necessary.
Directs all Quality Assurance policies, programs, KPI’s and employees to enable the company to achieve superior product quality and optimum customer satisfaction. Define and recommend Quality objectives consistent with the company’s strategic plan, develop short term and long range plans to achieve goals while staying within staffing and budgetary guidelines.
Effectively communicate with subordinates, executive management, other functional leaders, auditing agencies and customer representatives. Work with cross-functional leadership such as manufacturing, engineering, contracts, facilities, procurement and HR to ensure optimum support and coordination of Quality goals.
He or she will hire, appraise, discipline and terminate employees within area of own cognizance in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and company policy. In addition, he or she will direct and coach subordinates in expectations and plans to attain goals. Administer cross-training to ensure no single point failures.
Via data and astute observations, anticipate Quality challenges and provide leadership and problem resolution tools to facilitate rapid resolution. In addition implement mechanisms or KPI’s to check corrected process to eliminate the probability of reoccurrence.
