Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an Architect to join our team in Naples, FL.Duties include marketing, business development, independent technical reviews, project scope development, field investigation, planning, specifications, problem and conflict resolution, scheduling and design production. The majority of work is local / municipal and some federal projects including renovation, repairs and new construction.Key Responsibilities•Provide architectural trouble-shooting or consultations•Provide technical and project advice and guidance to client Project Managers•Conduct comprehensive technical reviews of professional studies, reports and analysis•Collaborate with managers, other engineers / architects, construction project managers, legal staff, contract specialists and/or contractor personnel•Provide advice and insight on the resolution of unique and/or complex architectural problems and disputes•Provide technical reviews and review comments for Design / Build and A/E contractor submittals•Provide technical responses for A/E and contractor requests for information and coordinate with client Project Manager•Execute architectural projects including on site data gathering and assessments, Charrettes, drawings, plans, specifications, design analyses, opinion of costs, studies, design review meetings and deliverables submission packages•Document Production and Control - Ensure production schedules are met and the presentation formats of documents meet company standards•General Liaison / Interface - Ensure administrative correspondence produced by company for clients is a professional reflection of the company•Personnel Direction/Management - Provide direction and administrative quality control to project team members to ensure project needs are met on time and within budget•Marketing and business development is a MUST•Management of technical and products library•Approximately 5% travel to project site visits in the US•BIM and ACAD drawing experience a plus
Skills / Qualifications Required •Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture•Registered Professional Architect in the State of Florida•5-10 years of experience performing and managing architectural services in the Southwest Florida marketplace•Working knowledge of local design standards and generally accepted design specifications for Construction Documents is mandatory•Experience in AutoCAD, BIM national building codes and all Architectural sub-disciplines (space planning for conceptual design, building design, interior design and outfitting selection)•Must be fluent in the latest versions of AutoCAD. Revit experience is a plus•Experience with federal regulations and Department of Homeland Security processes and regulations•Experience in developing / reviewing design / build specifications and Request for Proposal's•Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication abilities in English and Spanish is a plus•Presentation and interpersonal skills as well as community engagement and consensus building•Must be able to demonstrate experience planning, designing, directing and coordinating major, minor and renovation construction in accordance with South Florida Building codes (IBC, FBC, FFPC, and NFPA) laws (including OSHA Standards) and applicable regulations•Additionally it will be necessary to demonstrate strong management skills to meet rigorous contract goals and objectives (within the scope, schedule, cost and performance targets)•Must be willing to travel for assignments throughout Florida and out of state •Approximately 5% travel to project site visits in the US•US citizenship required•Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyPreferred•Experience in both commercial and Federal project design preferred•Registered Architect and Interior Design a must have•Awareness of Southwest Florida zoning requirements and regulations desired•Design charrette experience a plusCompany Overview Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
