Overview / Responsibilities Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is seeking a motivated, skilled Engineer or Scientist with 5-10 years of facility environmental regulatory compliance experience to join our Novi, MI office and become an integral member of our team.Key Responsibilities This person will be a member of a team providing environmental regulatory compliance services, such as multi-media environmental regulatory compliance audits, facility inspections and compliance reporting, to government and private industry. This position will support a wide variety of environmental compliance projects. Some of the responsibilities of this position will include:•Lead multi-media environmental regulatory compliance audits•Provide environmental regulatory compliance support including air and water quality permitting, air emissions reporting, EPCRA reporting, RCRA compliance, NPDES compliance, development of environmental procedures, and training•Support ISO 14000 Environmental Management System programs•Development of SPCC Plans, Michigan PIP Plans, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans, SWPPP plans and other related environmental compliance plans and reports•Management of hazardous building materials surveys (lead-based paint, asbestos, mold, etc.)•Performance and management of due diligence projects, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments•Interface with regulatory agencies for permit development and compliance•Technical review and mentoring of junior compliance staff•Will travel to project sites locally, surrounding states, and various areas of the country
Skills / Qualifications Required•BS degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or other technical field •5 + years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance in Michigan and surrounding states•40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training•Computer proficient (including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) •Strong technical writing skills•Demonstrated verbal communication and technical presentation skills•Team player and technical contributor•Able to define scope, schedule, and budget for project implementation•Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with the ability/desire to lead tasks•Attention to detail•Ability to read, interpret and apply information on State and Federal technical guidance, and regulations, and compliance determinations•Must pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyPreferred•MS degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or other technical field •Technical certifications and licenses, such as EIT or PE, CHMM, PMP, CEA, and Asbestos InspectorDiversity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
