The Department of Conservation and Development has an exciting career opportunity for seasoned, dynamic professional Civil Engineers. There is currently one (1) vacancy located in Martinez.
Under administrative direction, the Structural Engineer performs professional engineering work in checking plans, calculations and specifications for legal and technical compliance with ordinances and building laws; to provide technical direction and assistance to field Building Inspectors and to perform related work as required. The Structural Engineer class is the first level of professional structural engineering in the Building Inspection Division and will receive direction from the Deputy Director of Conservation and Development or the Supervising Structural Engineer.

TENTATIVE EXAM DATES
Tentative Training and Experience Evaluation: June 15, 2017
License Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator's license will be accepted during the application process.
Certificate: Possession of a valid Certificate of Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time, or its equivalent, experience in professional civil engineering work which involved stress and force analyses on wood frame, masonry and concrete/steel structures.
Substitution: Possession of a valid Certificate of Authority to use the title "Structural Engineer" issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
