Rutgers-School of Health Professions is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and visionary academic leader for Chair of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences. The Chair of CLS will join SHP at an exciting time with the development of a new Center of Excellence in Diagnostics. This Center will serve as an umbrella for collaboration across research and educational programs that span SHP’s departments of Medical Imaging Sciences, Health Informatics and Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
The Chair is responsible for leadership and administration of the department in alignment with the strategic plan of the school and university including budget, personnel, resource allocation, academic planning, and policy implementation; active participation in research including grant writing, mentorship for faculty professional development and research, and other scholarly productivity; some course development and teaching; and service to the university, school, and professional community.
Rutgers University is an internationally ranked public research university, is a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU) as well as the Big Ten conference, and recently celebrated its 250th anniversary. Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is housed in the division of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), New Jersey's premiere academic health center, providing outstanding education, research and clinical services in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, nursing, biomedical research, and the full spectrum of health professions. RBHS has also recently launched Rutgers Health, a patient centered, collaborative and interprofessional healthcare provider organization offering statewide services.
