Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, directs the planning, development and environmental division for the Metropolitan Airports Commission's (MAC) system of airports. The division consists of engineers, architects, project managers, technicians and support staff. Provides strategic leadership, policy direction and management for the environmental, airport planning and capital infrastructure for the MAC's seven airports. Establishes and maintains effective long term relationships with surrounding communities, local, state and federal agencies, the airlines and general aviation users in the MAC's system of airports. As a member of the senior staff for the MAC, contributes to the leadership, strategic direction and success of the organization. Serves as staff liaison to the Planning, Development and Environment Committee (PD&E), acting as the advisor to the committee chair regarding critical environmental and development issues and decisions facing the organization.

Bachelor's degree in a related field.Ten (10) years of experience within the airport industry with an increasing level of responsibility.Experience and oversight for one or more of the following fields: design, construction, engineering, planning, environmental affairs or aviation noise environment and planning.Experience with state and federal environmental review processes.Experience strategically managing significant planning, construction or environmental activity.Experience working with relevant FAA advisory circulars, orders or other airport design directives.Experience contributing to an executive team and/or governing board of directors.Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex, technical information to audiences not versed in technical airport planning, construction, environmental or noise issues.Valid drivers' license.
Master's Degree in a related field.Senior leadership experience at a large hub airport.Previous leadership experience in airport planning, airport development or environmental affairs.Public sector experience in planning and development.Demonstrated pattern of successful interaction with local units of government, community organizations, and state and federal officials.Management experience with community noise abatement and mitigation programs.Experience working in a well-established customer service-focused environment.
