Overview / Responsibilities Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is currently seeking an Engineering undergraduate student to join us for a Summer internship in our St. Louis (Ballwin) office. This position is ideally suited to students in the penultimate year of a degree in Civil Engineering.As an Engineering Intern, you will be working closely with Civil Design Engineering teams to provide technical support to Civil Engineers carrying out design and field work according to client specifications across a variety of sectors.Duties may include: •Production of CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings•Site visits•Site surveys•Preparation of calculations•Supporting the administration of projects•Contributing to providing solutions to design problems
Skills / Qualifications You will either be working towards or hold a degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering. Recent design experience would be an advantage but is not essential.Education, Experience & Proficiencies:•Related work experience in a consulting engineering environment is an advantage but not essential•Good knowledge of AutoCAD / Civil 3D an advantage but not essential•Good knowledge of MicroStation / Geopak an advantage but not essential•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint is requiredSuccessful candidates should be able to demonstrate:•Good numerical / math skills•Good literacy and ability to write reports•Able to manage own time and ability to prioritize at busy times•Creative and practical•Adaptable and persevering•Interested in pursuing a career within engineering•Able to produce neat and accurate technical drawings•Work well with other people•Good communication skills within a team and externally•Safety consciousDiversity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
