REPORTS TO: Engineering AdministratorFLSA STATUS: Exempt - ExecutiveCLASSIFICATION: Personnel System - Requires satisfactory completion of a six month probationary periodPAY GRADE: 22 (Engineer Coordinator I) or 24 (Engineer Coordinator II)SAFETY SENSITIVE: Yes - Subject to random drug testing per the Athens-Clarke County Drug and Alcohol OrdinancePurpose of JobThe purpose of this job is to perform administrative/supervisory functions associated with coordinating and managing Transportation and Public Works projects.Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordinating and supervising section personnel and activities as assigned, coordinating and reviewing engineering projects or activities, ensuring these activities are performed in accordance with applicable codes, and performing additional tasks as required.SALARY: Engineer Coordinator I -- $48,558 annual entry rate -- PAY GRADE: 22SALARY: Engineer Coordinator II -- $51,588 annual entry rate -- PAY GRADE: 24Job Related RequirementsWORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, subject to call back 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Night meetings and weekend work may be required.May be required to work on religious holidays.Regular and predictable attendance is required.Must work cooperatively with others.When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC's safe driving policy.Emergency Position This position is designated as an emergency position that requires your attendance at work under all types of emergency conditions. Some examples of emergencies include inclement weather, utility failure, fire or other forced evacuations or as determined by the Manager.
Qualified applicants must possess the following for the Engineer Coordinator I position:High school diploma or equivalent required with four years of experience in Construction Management required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Two years of supervisory experience is required.Bachelor's Degree preferred.Must possess a valid driver's license.Qualified applicants must possess the following for the Engineer Coordinator II position:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Design Engineering, or related discipline with two years of experience in Construction Management or a related field required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is required. Two years of supervisory experience is required. Must possess a valid driver's license.Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. Certification as a Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission Level 1A preferred.
