Overview / Responsibilities Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure seeks a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Salt Lake City, UT team. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of civil / geotechnical engineering projects.Key Responsibilities•Will work approximately 75% in the office and 25% in the field•Will assist in writing design and construction reports for projects•Geotechnical investigation, design and construction quality assurance of highway projects and mining projects such as tailings storage facilities, heap leach pads, foundations and other infrastructure•Travel may be required for this position and candidates must be prepared to undertake short-term field assignments. Typical travel time for this position is 10 to 25% a year•Design calculations such as slope stability evaluation and settlement•Assist preparing technical reports
Skills / Qualifications •BS degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical emphasis) or Geological Engineering; MS degree is a plus•3 - 7 years’ professional experience in geotechnical engineering•Experience with design and construction of roadways and bridges is required•Experience with design and construction of heap leach facilities and tailings storage facilities is a plus•Strong academic background and solid understanding of soil mechanics and local Utah soils and geology•Civil 3D or Microstation experience is not required, but a plus•Report writing skills•Strong writing and communication skills in English•Ability and willingness to travel; Approximately 10 to 25% travel•Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyDiversity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
