Rosendin Electric's Summer Internship program is a hands-on training program designed to give you a well-rounded experience. You will work alongside passionate mentors solving real-world construction industry challenges in Project Management, Estimating, Engineering, BIM / VDC, or Safety.
Your internship, at Rosendin Electric, can be the perfect opportunity to expand your knowledge outside of the classroom. The hands-on real-world experiences that you encounter during an internship program enable you to develop your potential and make key contacts for future networking. Use your internship to determine your interest level in certain career fields, get feedback from professionals regarding your strengths and weaknesses, and to further your education and expand your resume.
In mid-June, we invite all of our Interns, from across the country, to spend a week at Rosendin’s Corporate Headquarters, in San Jose, CA for a full week of training. Subject matter includes Project Management, Estimating, Purchasing, Engineering, Safety, and more. We will visit live job sites and have team building events to make this a very valuable part of your overall internship experience.
Highlights of Roles and Responsibilities, for the Project Management Internship are as follows:
Manage all aspects of project documentation including submittals, RFIs and project meeting minutes.
Supervise and direct overall project activities as assigned by the Project Manager including planning and coordinating, circumventing/resolving problem areas, ensuring all company/project policies, procedures and standards are maintained, etc.
Maintain all change order, submittal and document (drawing) control logs. Prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.
Responsible for contract submittals that they are accurate and submitted on time.
Responsible for putting together and issuing the Subcontractors’ contracts.
Responsible for the assembly and timely delivery of the Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
Ensure that the project quality control plan is in effect and followed
Interacts with Subcontractors to make certain that we have obtained the correct documentation and drawing for the Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
Responsible for keeping the Warranty Log up to date.
Represent company/project in meetings with client, subcontractors, etc.
Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel assigned to area of responsibility.
Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress.
Responsible for putting together the Job Information Sheets and establishing Job Files.
Assume total project supervision responsibilities in Project Manager's absence.
Price change orders.
Does project reports and documentation as well as works with payroll on the administration of checks.
Qualifications for Project Management, Estimating, Engineering, BIM, or Safety Internships:
Must be enrolled in courses for Fall 2017, and have completed coursework in Construction Management, Engineering, Occupational Health, or related field, or have equivalent work experience.
The ideal candidate is a person that exemplifies they are able to work in a team environment, driven, reliable, honest, accountable, organized, customer focused and detail oriented.
