ENGINEERING EDUCATION FACULTY POSITION Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering University of California, Davis
Applications are invited for a faculty position as a Lecturer with Potential for Security of Employment (LPSOE) in Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of California, Davis. This position has primary responsibilities in undergraduate teaching, particularly in the area of engineering design and communication. The successful candidate will teach the first-year introduction to engineering design and communication course administered by the department for the College of Engineering and establish a research program in a pedagogical research area. As a Biological Systems Engineering (EBS) faculty member, the successful candidate will also teach courses in the curriculum, participate in continuous curriculum improvement, develop additional design experiences in the EBS curriculum, advise student research and design projects, lead assessment and accreditation activities, and lead diversity and inclusion efforts. The candidate should have a strong teaching record and commitment to undergraduate instruction. A Ph.D. in engineering, engineering education or a related field is required. Clearly demonstrated evidence of excellent teaching and experience in teaching engineering design at the undergraduate level are required. A background in teaching technical communication and demonstration of pedagogical innovation are preferred. This position has the potential for security of employment.
